Mill Store Cabin

THE MILL STORE CABIN

Built in 1873, the "Mill Store Cabin" originally functioned as the store where the miller sold his stone-ground goods to the local community.

The most prominent feature of the cabin is its original massive stone chimney inlaid with one of the old millstones. Fire up some logs in its stone wood-burning fireplace, draw a bath in the cabin's two-person soaking tub, crack open a bottle of wine, and unwind.

Nearly 150 year-old hand-hewn wooden beams and antique wooden interior structures, combined with a recently updated modern country flare, the Mill Store Cabin creates the perfect rustic ambience for your rural retreat.

The Paddock

THE PADDOCK

"The Paddock" is our most spacious and luxurious suite at the Osceola Mill. It is the largest of our four suites located on the second floor of the historic mill house.

Before the Osceola Mill's retirement as a working mill in 1969, all of the rooms inside of the mill house had a functional purpose. This second floor room had large barn-style doors that opened East facing the horse paddock nextdoor. A two-story pulley system was used to haul ingredients and goods to and from the ground floor.

Massive hand-hewn wooden beams from the mill's original construction in 1849 along with antique wood-framed windows and country decor give this room a truly rustic ambiance. With no lack or luxury though, including a host of recently updated modern amenities to make your stay as memorable as it is comfortbale.

THE GRANARY

"The Granary" is one of our rustic, yet luxurious suites located on the second floor of the historic mill house.

As you walk through the front door of the mill house, you'll immediately notice the nearly 175 year-old massive, hand-hewn wooden beams and antique wooden structures all throughout the building and in every room. Almost all of the structures in tact today are from the original construction in 1849.

Up the squeaky wood-plank steps to the second floor and you'll find "The Granary" across the hall to your left. Being on the creek side of the house, it overlooks the mill's massive Fritz water wheel as well as the adjacent Marl Creek.

As the name implies, this room was originally the mill's storehouse for threshed grain that would eventually be ground into flour or other goods. Today it functions as a rustic country suite furnished with its own private bathroom and a host of other modern amenities.
